COVID-19 Policies

Yes, masks are required for anyone who is not vaccinated.

Yes! Now that capacity limits have been lifted we are allowing walk ups, though we do recommend buying your tickets in advance to easily check in and get rolling!  Our schedule has changed, so make sure to check out the Hours and Pricing page. 

No, we do not allow outside food or drinks. The only exception is if you bring in an empty water bottle you may fill it at our water fountain refill station. 

We do not offer refunds or exchanges at this time. 

We have increased our already stringent cleaning regimen and will be sanitizing throughout every session and also deep cleaning in between sessions. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility. We have added other safety measures to keep everyone safe during their time with us. We ask that you sanitize hands upon entry and often during your time with us.

If you or anyone in your household is not feeling well with any COVID-19 like symptoms, we ask that you wait to visit us until everyone is well. If you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please wait to visit us for two weeks to make sure you are clear of any symptoms. Our staff will be checked for symptoms of sickness upon entry as well as with a temperature check. All staff is required to wear a mask and will be required to sanitize hands and their work areas frequently.

Yes, we are currently offering a wide range of food and drinks including pretzels, pizzas, fountain sodas, bottled beverages, popcorn, hotdogs, and more. 

Non skating adult chaperones will not be charged if they are watching their child. Everyone else will be charged admission.

Yes! We generally take reservations up to 1 month in advance. Ask COVID regulations ease we will start booking up to 3-6 months in advance.  


Our schedule changes seasonally. Please check our Hours and Pricing for the most current schedule.

There is limited parking located directly in front of the building. You may park behind the building by the library. Avoid parking in front of Pizza Hut, Yum Yum’s, Linda Hair Salon, and the Car Wash as they will tow.

We rent both quad and inline skates. Quads range from toddler size 8-mens size 15. Inlines range from Y13-Mens 14. Skate rental is currently included with the admission fee. 

Yes, just make sure they are in good working order, with no metal parts or pieces hanging off that could scratch the floor. 

Toe stops, toe plugs, or a No Toe Stop (NTS) plate is required. 

We do not allow shoes on the skating floor due to safety concerns and liability. You are welcome to walk around the outside of the rink on the carpet. 

We have lockers for rent starting at $4.00. You are able to access your rented locker as many times as you wish during the skating session. 

Fritzy’s Roller Skate Shop is located inside our facility and sells many different models and styles. You can also visit their Pacific Beach location. Check out their website for hours, prices, and more! 

Yes! Feel free to purchase one here for yourself or a gift for that special someone!

Yes! They start at $3.50 per pair. 

No, no food or drinks allowed in the building with the exception of an empty water bottle to refill at our water fountain refill station.

Most frequent questions and answers


We do not charge for non skating parents chaperoning their kids. Everyone else must pay admission to enter and skate rental if needed.

No. Unfortunately, we do not sell or allow any alcohol at Skateworld, nor do we allow anyone who looks or acts intoxicated to enter the facility.

We not not have an ATM on site, but there is a Bank of America kiosk located in the adjacent parking lot. We do accept cards in all parts of our facility.

Yes! You can purchase a giftcard for any amount you wish at the Ticket Office

Yes, Skateworld is happy to donate products/services to nonprofits and fundraisers. Please email or snail mail a written request with company/organization letterhead to us with at least 3 months’ notice before your event.

Wear athletic clothing that is breathable and comfortable. Remember: skating is an athletic activity, so come ready to move and sweat! It’s easy to forget in San Diego, but make sure to wear socks!

Yes, and we have an extensive music library. Feel free to make requests to our DJ during Public Skating Sessions. Please note that depending on the session and time of day a song may not be appropriate.

Skateworld is a great place to skate and work. We hire seasonal staff during January thru June and during other times of the year as well. If you bring an upbeat attitude and a willingness to help people enjoy their skating experience, then come down and fill out an application Mondays 3-6pm

Of course! You are welcome to hold a Private Event with us, and we will help you to make it beneficial for your nonprofit or school. These types of events work best when your group has 100 people or more. Please give us a call to discuss specifics.

We do try to accommodate filming at our location, but usually you will have to book and pay for a special time with us so as not to infringe on the general public. Email us with questions at info@skateworldsandiego.com

We have a changing table located in each of our bathrooms. We do not currently have a dedicated nursing area, but you are welcome to feed your baby in any area of the lobby you wish. 

We do not allow anyone 11 and under to be dropped off without supervision. Youth 12 and older are welcome to be dropped off, although we do reserve the right to give warnings, and if the warnings aren’t headed, they can be asked to leave and have their parent pick them up. Please review our Rules and Regulations before dropping your child off.

Visitors may be filmed, photographed, or recorded by Skateworld for promotional uses, including for posting on the rink website and social media platforms. Please inform the Ticket Office if you prefer not to be photographed. Skateworld allows still and video photography only for personal and/or noncommercial use. Working members of the media MUST obtain permission from Skateworld Management and be escorted by a Skateworld staff member while in the building.
